This time, the duo turns their creative gaze inward; taking inspiration from the Jewish writer Franz Kafka’s *The Metamorphosis*, Chung employs a Kafkaesque third-person perspective to examine his own relationship with the political landscape. He titled the album *Jianghu Kafka*, using the title track as a pivotal moment: looking back, he recalls being dogged by hellhounds—\"Fate is a rabid dog\"—and a future overshadowed by ominous signs. He had entered the legislative assembly with naivety only to be brutally battered; water management budgets were frozen, leaving him to confide in the insects and birds, asking them to simply \"build their nests in peace.\" Countless moments \"before nightfall\" were spent lost between his original ideals and harsh reality. The verbal sparring in the legislative chamber became a field study of colloquialisms and proverbs, leading him to conduct a mental \"study of legislative monkey-talk\"—only to realize that the road of life is a treacherous one. He came to understand that the Sisyphean fate of endlessly pushing a boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down is not merely a tragedy, but—much like a stripped screw—simply a fact of life. Listening to Leonard Cohen’s songs feels like hearing rock-and-roll sutras—Hallelujah.\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"Panda Record","offers":[{"title":"Japanese 1LP Limited Edition","offer_id":46194722308140,"sku":"BRANCD064L","price":395.0,"currency_code":"HKD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0388\/0461\/9308\/files\/E7_94_9F_E7_A5_A5_E6_A8_82_E9_9A_8A-sheng-xiang-band-_E6_B1_9F_E6_B9_96_E5_8D_A1_E5_A4_AB_E5_8D_A1-kafka-on-the-rivers-lakes.jpg?v=1789730168","url":"https:\/\/whitenoiserecords.org\/products\/%e7%94%9f%e7%a5%a5%e6%a8%82%e9%9a%8a-sheng-xiang-band-%e6%b1%9f%e6%b9%96%e5%8d%a1%e5%a4%ab%e5%8d%a1-kafka-on-the-rivers-lakes","provider":"WHITE NOISE RECORDS","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
