Holger Czukay's fifth solo album. A masterpiece that fully showcases the eccentric and pop world of Holger Czukay! [Released in 1987]
Holger Czukay's fifth album. Ex-Can ally Jaki Liebezeit (ds) and Michael Karoli (g), ex-PIL member Jah Wobble (b) and others participate. The album opener "Hey Baba Reebop" with its pleasant synth riffs and flying guitar is dedicated to Reebop Kwaku Bah, a late Can member who died in 1983. The ideas in themselves are genius and outlandish, such as "Blessed Easter", which collages Gregorian chants and samples the speech of the then Pope John Paul II, and "Sudetenland", which features a Bulgarian voice over a funky beat. Two songs that have become popular in recent years are the new wave samba "Hit Hit Flop Flop" with humorous children's voices and the Latin-style "Perfect World" which samples James Brown's voice.
