A soft, compelling slice of Brazilian bossa nova and jazz from two of the nation's most renowned artists, 'Rio Bonito' spans 10 original works' worth of high-strung, acoustic bliss. The younger side of this collaboration, Fabiano Dos Nascimento, hardly needs any introduction, having dominated the trans-American guitar scene for well over two decades now; Itibere Zwarg, meanwhile, has cast a watchful, wise eye over its proliferation since the 1970s. Emotive and lonesome, but not shy of many an extra cinematic element, our favourites on this LA-via-Rio masterpiece include the tempo-shifting 'Luz das aguas' and the solitary, pitch-perfect 'Just Piano.'
