From 2007 to 2010, Kikuchi Naruyoshi Dub Sextet released three albums before ceasing activities. In addition to Kikuchi Naruyoshi on saxophone and Kakehashi Shinpei on various brass instruments, the rhythm section was comprised of Tsuboguchi Masayasu (piano), Suzuki Masato (bass), and Honda Tama (drums). Furthermore, dub engineer Pardon Kimura (effects & electro) also participated in the ensemble. Their album "THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE COMPUTERIZED" which combined jazz and dub and made a significant impact on the scene is finally being released on vinyl, much anticipated by fans.
Drawing inspiration from the 1960s Miles Davis Quintet as a matrix, and quoting jazz figures like Ornette Coleman and Eric Dolphy, this album gets abstract yet funky in the sounds. It continues to resonate through time and space as an "eternally new sound." For the LP release, Pardon Kimura took charge of re-editing the album.
Comments Received Regarding the LP Release:
It's been a while since I've cut vinyl before. After pondering, "Which album is most suitable for vinyl?" I concluded, "It's gotta be this one."I hope this gets played on your turntables around the world. Naruyoshi Kikuchi.
