From the Record Store Day website: "Everybody's Going To The Moon", is a limited edition 12" single for Record Store Day 2021 released in celebration of Jamiroquai co-writer Toby Smith who sadly passed away from cancer in 2017. Co-written by Toby the track has previously been unavailable on vinyl, having only been released as part of the soundtrack for the film Titan A.E. In keeping with the movie soundtrack theme, the b side features the Chillington remix of Deeper Underground (from 1998's Godzilla movie) - also co-written written by Toby. The 180g black vinyl LP will be pressed with foil numbered sleeves. The packaging for this special release comprises a die cut outer sleeve and rainbow mirror board disco sleeve, providing an extremely striking appearance along with additional foil flourishes and words written by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay."
From the sleeve notes: "Hi everybody, it's been a terrible year for all of us, so here's something from the vaults that will hopefully cheer you up on this Record Store Day 2021. These are a couple of things that Toby & I did back in the day, on a heavy all night session at Chillington studio. We all miss him and his irreverent humour terribly, not to mention his broad talent. I hope you enjoy these old gems and I very much look forward to seeing everyone from the stage again, and bringing you a new album which we are working on, though it isn't easy under these circumstances. Wishing you all the very best, Jx"
Jay also wrote: "He has been a huge part of my life," he added. "Without him, there would be no JAMIROQUAI, and as I write this, the moon is clear and bright in the sky, and I think of him how it should be, riding his mighty horse across it, leaving a trail of stars behind him."
