Oskar Schuster
Oskar Schuster is a german composer and artist, living in Berlin. His songs without words evoke a fairytale-world, strange and surreal. A world full of blurry images of the past; of childhood memories and characters from children’s books; of clicking and ticking clocks and ever-looping music boxes, of far-away-lands, far-away-seas, far-away-skies, far-away-everythings.
Dmitry Evgrafov
Having studied Sound Design in Moscow, Dmitry’s music blends intimate piano parts with delicately evocative symphonic arrangements and rich electronics. Completely self-taught, Dmitry began to play music from the age of fourteen, between 2011–2013 he released an EP and two albums. Largely self-released online with next to no promotion, the most recent of these records, ‘Pereehali’ is a combination of luminous, contemplative piano recorded in a wooden country-house and subtly enhanced with smeared tape manipulations.
Later Dmitry felt less than happy with these three early releases, and decided to take a break after ‘Pereehali’ in order to rethink his approach to composing. Simultaneously he started working as a sound designer and composer, writing bespoke music for a number of videos, reels, commercials, audiovisual installations and scores.
In early 2015 FatCat Records signed the composer to the 130701 imprint. Dmitry’s debut album for 130701, ‘Collage’, was released in October 2015. A year later, a digital EP, ‘The Quiet Observation’ was released, whilst Dmitry’s second 130701 album, ‘Comprehension Of Light’ was released in October 2017.
In summer 2015 Dmitry completed a degree course in sound design. He is currently a co-founder and a composer at Endel, an app that generates sound environment for personal and public spaces.
Fluid Radio has described Dmitry as "…a prodigious young talent hailing from Moscow, who imparts into his music a maturity which seems grounded by practice far beyond his years… one gets the impression that Dmitry Evgrafov will become an important contributor to his generation’s neo-classical movement."
