A London-born, now Atlanta-based songwriter, Jacob Alan, aka Puma Blue, releases his sophomore album 'Holy Waters' on the South London scene label Blue Flowers Music (Westerman, Nilüfer Yanya, Gotts Street Park).
Death nestles like a sweet creature at the heart of Holy Waters, but it is less a morbid study of mortality than a chronicle of grace in each repeating cycle of life, death and rebirth. The eleven tracks represent a significant leap in Puma Blue's artistic output and are characterized by a startling sincerity.
'Holy Waters' was recorded with his live band, thereby marking a significant departure from the solo bedroom productions of his previous releases. Inspired by productions of Jeff Buckley and Björk, but also the improvisational joy of CAN or Jimi Hendrix.
