Born in Nanjing in 1970, Zuo Xiao Zu Zhou has released 50 albums over a career spanning three decades. He is a multifaceted avant-garde artist whose creative output encompasses novels, performance art, photography, and poetry. His 2001 album, *Zuo Xiao Zu Zhou at Di'anmen*, was named one of the year's top ten albums by Chinese music media.
