ROVO's latest album, released in 2020 and self-titled in the 24th year of ROVO's existence, is a masterpiece of the band's will, music and performance in complete unity.
This is ROVO's first analogue record in 19 years, since 2002's "FLAGE", and was only available for pre-sale at the Liquid Room show on November 6th, 2021.
This time, thanks to a special manufacturing process, we have succeeded in producing an analogue record that is particularly faithful to the sound quality intended by the artist! (see below for details)
The sound quality has been praised by the music critic Dai Onoshima on his Facebook page. (Reference article: https://www.facebook.com/dai.onojima/posts/10227102094361056)
The beautiful artwork by Haruka Sakota is also worthy of note!
We hope you will enjoy the latest ROVO analogue release with all your senses!
About the special manufacturing process
In the normal production process of analog records, a master disc called a lacquer disc is cut (the sound is engraved into the grooves) when the master is made for pressing.
However, using a new technology developed by the company, the master is cut on a vinyl disc just like the finished product.
The sound quality of a lacquer master changes during the pressing process, but a vinyl master is made of the same material as the finished product, so there is no change in sound quality.
It is now possible to eliminate the sound quality errors in the pressing process and as a result it is possible to make analogue records that faithfully reproduce the sound quality intended by the artist.
This manufacturing process was previously impossible due to static electricity and durability problems, but a new technology developed by Atsushi Yamane of Altphonic Studio from various experiments has made it possible, and a patent is currently being applied for.
