Luby Sparks is a Japanese rock band formed in 2016. The band’s current lineup is Natsuki (bass, vocals), Erika (vocals), Sunao (guitar), Tamio (guitar), and Shin (drums). In 2017, they performed at Indietracks Festival 2017 in Derbyshire, the UK as the only one Japanese band. The band’s self-titled debut album, “Luby Sparks” (2018), was recorded with Max Bloom (Yuck) as a co-producer in London. Following the album, they released the EP, “(I’m) Lost in Sadness” (2018). The latest single ‘Somewhere’ (2019) was remixed by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins). In 2019, Luby Sparks hosted their own two shows with guests from overseas, Say Sue Me (Korea) and Yuck (UK). Also, the band has supported many overseas bands’ Japan tours like The Vaccines (UK), The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (US), TOPS (CA), Nothing (US), The KVB (UK), etc.
