1LP Edition Release Date: 10/10/2026 Label: Trad Vibe Records
Description
Inédit 79 offers a rare glimpse into the creative freedom of Alain Mion and Cortex during the late 1970s. Recorded in a converted barn studio in Noisement, France, these tracks capture the band’s jazz-funk brilliance in its purest, most spontaneous form. Between radio sessions, advertising work, and collaborations with nearby musicians like Siegfried Kessler and Rosalie Dubois, Mion and his ensemble laid down over twenty pieces that remained unreleased for decades. Rediscovered and lovingly restored, this new reissue brings together 12 of the finest sessions—vibrant, soulful, and full of groove. With its lush Fender Rhodes, silky vocals, and infectious funk rhythms, Inédit 79 stands as a time capsule of French jazz-fusion at its most inspired. Remastered and presented with artwork based on Cortex’s original 1973 concert poster, this black vinyl edition celebrates one of France’s most enduring and influential groups.
